Vegan Nutrition for Optimal Health
Around the world, more and more people are choosing plant-based diets. This presentation will cover the key nutrients and practical tips for creating a vegan or near-vegan diet that will support you in excellent health. We also will address some nutrition-related myths, and the positive impact a well designed vegan diet can have on your health.
Vesanto Melina is an internationally renowned dietitian from Canada, who has worked in the field of plant-based nutrition for decades. She is co-author (with Brenda Davis) of books that are classics in plant-based nutrition. She also is the lead author on the frequently cited position paper on vegetarian diets, published by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics of North America, which states that plant-based diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. In this presentation, Vesanto Melina will share her knowledge on plant-based nutrition.
